Worm infestation in dogs
Dogs are indeed a human's best friend if treated right. They don't care how less

can infect your dog's heart, lungs, intestines, and other areas of its body if
left untreated. In some conditions, there are no visible signs until it gets
severe, and your dog's health gets affected. But most of the time, signs are
evident, and this can be treated with dewormer.
Signs of Worm Infestation
Symptoms of parasitic infection include dullness, diarrhoea, and vomiting. If
this gets worse, it can result in several health issues and painful death, so it
is the best option to visit a veterinarian.
A vet will physically examine your dog and may also take a sample of its stool
to test whether it has worms, and if it has, then what kind of worms are they.
Sometimes there are no signs of worm infestation; therefore, vets suggest to add
a faecal test in your dog's routine checkup. However, some common signs may
include:
- Worms or eggs in your dog's poop. This sign is most common, but it is
not
visible at all times.
- Worms appearing in your dog's fur or around dog's rear can be another
evidence
of worm infestation.
- Continuous scratching or rubbing of the rear. Itchiness may have other
causes,
but it always better to get your dog tested.
- If there are worms in your dog's vomits.
- If your dog's belly is bloated, it can be a sign of parasitic
infection. Puppies
who get worms from their mothers can show this sign.
- Lethargy, increased hunger, and weight log can also be a sign.
Treatment
Many effective treatments can cure worm infestation. Your vet will examine your
dog and suggest you the most suitable treatment. But some worm infestations are
so common that they can be treated with chewable flavoured tablets.
